Keerthika Govindhasamy, she is a YouTuber from Tamil Nadu, Keerthika has pursued her passion for archaeology with unwavering resolve.At the tender age of 15, Keerthika faced adversity. Her desire to be self sufficient and independent led her to defy norms. She excelled in her studies, harboring dreams of becoming an archaeologist. However, her village held different expectations for her. They questioned her choices, and she felt the weight of their disapproval.Keerthika’s journey was marked by struggle.
She fought for basic rights—simple things like going to the nearby shop were met with resistance. Her family’s disappointment and societal limitations weighed heavily on her. Despite the odds, she endured. She worked tirelessly, taking up various jobs, including tuition, home tutoring, and even working as an electrician. It took her 1.5 years to save up for a second-hand laptop.Her relationship with her father suffered during this time, but Keerthika remained steadfast.
Fast forward to 2024, and her determination bore fruit. She not only reconciled with her family but also achieved something beyond her wildest dreams. Prime Minister Narendra Modi presented Keerthika with the Best Storyteller Award on March 9 at the first National Creators Award ceremony, which took place at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.
